Getting to LaGuardia from Manhattan

LGA is the closest major airport to Midtown — roughly 8 to 9 miles up the Grand Central Parkway, or via the BQE (I-278) from Brooklyn. Off-peak the run is 25 to 35 minutes; in the rush it stretches to 45. Its proximity makes LGA the easiest airport for a same-day group move, though the compact terminal roadways reward a driver who knows the loops.

The rebuilt terminals

LaGuardia has been almost entirely rebuilt: Terminal B and Terminal C opened as modern headhouses with new arrivals and departures roadways, and Terminal A (the historic Marine Air Terminal) handles a smaller set of flights. We work to each terminal's designated pickup zone and meet arriving groups with a name sign. The Port Authority reports LGA serves more than 30 million passengers a year, largely domestic — so most group transfers here are corporate and event traffic.

Vehicles and luggage

Because LGA is domestic-heavy, groups tend to travel lighter, but every shuttle still carries dedicated luggage space. A 24-seat mini-bus is the sweet spot for a mid-size corporate group; the Sprinter suits an executive team, and a motorcoach handles a full conference block.

The honest comparison

Is a chartered shuttle better than rideshare or your own fleet?

For a group that travels together on a schedule, a chartered shuttle is almost always cheaper and more reliable than pooling rideshares or buying and staffing your own buses. Here is how the options line up.

Factor Commuter Shuttle Co. Pooled rideshare Own company fleet
Cost for 20+ ridersOne flat vehicle rateMultiplies per car, per tripCapital + drivers + garage

Rideshare comparison assumes standard app pricing; surge multipliers of 1.5×–3× are common at weekday rush, in rain or snow, and around major NYC events. Fixed shuttle rates do not surge.
